Ergonomics
Stool or chair? Does a child or adult need a backrest when sitting?
And what is the recommended seat height?
Orthopaedists recommend doing without a backrest altogether, especially for pre-school children. Children in particular have a natural need to move, which is restricted by a backrest.
Sitting on a stool automatically leads to a straight sitting position. This strengthens the muscles in the lumbar region and thus forms the basis for a healthy back.
A seat height between 22 and 26 cm is recommended as the ideal seat height for preschoolers.
The ideal seat height for adults is around 50 cm, depending on body size. This ensures ideal weight distribution over the feet.
Our children’s stools have a seat height of 25 cm.
The stools for adults have a height of 50 cm.
